OVERVIEW
The Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S is an all terrain, all season tire made for SUVs and light trucks. Yokohama offers a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty with sizes below 20” of this tire model.
The tire has great all weather traction and it grips the road well in dry, wet and winter weather thanks to the tire compound and the tread design. The dual interlocking pyramid sipes preserve tread block rigidity for an improved all season traction. The four wide circumferential grooves help resist hydroplaning and increase the wet weather traction by eliminating water from below the tire footprint. The tire is safe to use all year round.
The model performs well both on- and off-road, making it a great, versatile drive. The Multi-Step inner tread block design upgrades the all terrain traction as they provide additional biting edges, allowing it to conquer all loose, soft and uneven road surfaces. This tread design provides extra rigidity for enhanced on-road traction and performing ability, while off-road it boosts the tread's self-cleaning ability. The tread pattern disperses mud and snow stuck between the tread blocks, which can decrease the tire's traction if left there.
A longer tread life and tire usability are guaranteed with this Yokohama model. The special tire compound and the tread pattern increase the tread life. The silica infused compound and the rounded edge tread pattern distribute the driving pressure evenly across the tread area, providing even wear, while the dual interlocking pyramid sipes promote tread block rigidity for a slower tread wear rate. These three features together allow the tire to be used for a longer period of time as they soften the contact between the tire and the road.
The tire is even more cost efficient with its puncture resistant structure. The 3 ply casing of the model and the aggressive sidewall protectors prevent accidental punctures and cuts to the sidewalls, while also increasing the off-road grip. The 3 ply casing structure also reinforces some light truck sized versions of the Geolandar A/T-S to be able to carry and withstand heavier loads and improve its durability.
The model provides a quiet and comfortable driving experience. The rounded-edge tread pattern is further enhanced by the five-pitch block variation. The tread pattern creates softer contact between the road and the tire to reduce the road noise, while the pitch variation makes sure the pattern generated noise is minimized. This reduces the road noise heard in the cabin of the vehicle while the vehicle is in motion, offering a more enjoyable drive.
