OVERVIEW
The Sumitomo Encounter HT is a highway terrain all season tire manufactured for crossover vehicles, SUVs and light trucks. This model has some touring passenger vehicle sizes as well. Sumitomo offers a 60,000 mile warranty with this model.
The tire ensures a safer all weather traction. The special tread pattern and the all season compound improve the dry, wet and winter weather traction. The compound keeps its flexibility even in colder temperatures, while the tread elements find firm grip on the road surface in all conditions. The four circumferential grooves and smaller lateral slots prevent hydroplaning as they disperse water and slush from below the tire's footprint. The enhanced hydroplaning resistance and exceptional all weather traction increase the year round driving safety.
The model promotes an enjoyable driving experience. The shoulder tread blocks feature a variable pitch sequence that negate the road noise generated while the tires are in motion. The variable pitch sequence creates a sound frequency that cancels out the road and tread pattern noise heard in the vehicle's cabin. The special polyester casing enables the tire to closely follow the road surface. This absorbs the shock of driving and reduces the road vibrations felt during the drive. The decreased road noise and vibration levels guarantee a quiet and comfortable drive.
The tire's special internal structure and tread pattern work together to enhance its controllability. The solid bead apex improves the sidewall stiffness while the tread design keeps firm hold on the road surface to upgrade the steering responsiveness and driving stability. In other words, the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting it, while the steering becomes quick and precise in its responsiveness to the instructions given to the tires. The Encounter HT promotes excellent durability. The internal structure features steel belts strengthened with a polyester casing and a spirally wound polyamide reinforcement to increase the tire's strength and durability. This prevents the deformation of the tire's shape and ensures a secure performance in all conditions.
