The Pirelli Winter 240 Sottozero Serie II Run Flat is a performance, winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles.

The tire guarantees first-rate winter weather traction. It has received the three mountain peak and snowflake symbol for its ability to handle the harshest winter conditions. The tire compound is Pirelli's special Temperature Dynamic Compound that allows the tire to be driven in both fall and winter. It is only unable to handle hot temperature conditions. The tread design features a high density siping detail that boosts the model's road gripping ability on snow and ice-covered roads. The tread grooves actively resist hydroplaning by evacuating water and slush from below the tire's footprint and ensure a safer cold temperature driving experience.

This model was designed with the run flat technology. Its strengthened structure enables the tire to be driven on for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph in case of air pressure loss. Once air pressure leaves the tire, it promotes a limited, temporary performance as the stronger structure withstands the weight of the vehicle and its passengers.
