OVERVIEW
The Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 is a touring, winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.
Winter weather traction is ensured with this model. The winter compound and the detailed directional tread design upgrade the winter weather, ice and snow traction. The durable winter compound keeps the rubber flexibility in freezing temperatures, thanks to the stronger rubber materials. The high-density siping placement firmly grips the road surface with the use of extra biting edges, upgrading the ice- and snow-covered surface traction. The angled lateral grooves disperse water and slush from the footprint, avoiding hydroplaning in wet conditions. These elements ensure a safer winter weather performance, without the use of studs.
The directional tread design maintains the surface contact at all times, upgrading the controllability. These tread elements enable the tire to greatly upgrade the steering responsiveness and driving stability. This promotes exceptional steering response time and accuracy to the driver's commands, while the structure is secured against the driving pressure affecting the tire. The stronger internal structure with the aramid fiber reinforcement improves the load durability. The stronger internal structure enables the tire to increase the load carrying and withstanding ability.
The winter traction and the better road contact guarantee the tire's surface contact. As a result, the tire is able to ease the pressure off the tire, lowering the rolling resistance while the tires are in motion. Rolling resistance is the pressure which determines the vehicle's fuel intake needed to keep the tires in motion. Lowering the rolling resistance, the tire is able to minimize the vehicle's fuel consumption and CO2 emission levels. This guarantees a field friendly driving experience.
The Hakkapeliitta R2 also enhances its overall comfort levels. The directional tread design allows the tire to ensure a close road contact, reducing the road noise and vibration levels. The tread channels airwaves through the footprint, minimizing sound wave formations. On the other hand, the footprint also absorbs the shock of driving, decreasing the road vibrations felt by the passengers. The tire reduces the road noise and vibrations reaching the vehicle's cabin. This guarantees high driving comfort levels.
