The Michelin Pilot Sport PS3 is a high performance summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles.
The tire promotes exceptional summer weather performance. The special asymmetric tread design and the summer tire compound firmly grip the road surface in dry and wet weather. The optimized tread design also increases the hydroplaning resistance with the Anti-Surf System. This optimized tread disperses water from below the tire's footprint and guarantees a safer driving experience. The model is not meant to be driven in winter weather road conditions as the tire compound does not maintain its flexibility in colder temperatures.
The tread design greatly enhances the model's controllability. The asymmetric tread features three center continuous ribs and large shoulder blocks that grip the road surface in all summer weather. The center ribs stabilize the tire against the driving pressure affecting it, while the shoulder tread blocks upgrade the steering responsiveness and precision to the driver's commands. The tread blocks also manage to increase the number of biting edges that boost the cornering ability and power. The tread design's variable thickness sipes improve the braking ability. They shorten the braking distance by creating friction at the correct time and guarantee a safer driving experience.
The tire is very fuel efficient. The Energy Efficient construction and the Green Power tire compound work together to decrease the rolling resistance, which is the power affecting the tires, that determines how much energy the vehicle needs to maintain the tire's motion.
