Goodyear Marathon LHD
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
- Improved durability
- Fuel efficient performance
- Enhanced controllability
- All weather traction
OVERVIEW
The Goodyear Marathon LHD is a highway terrain, all season tire manufactured for commercial vehicles, to be mounted on their drive axle.
The special enhanced tire compound improves the tire's all weather traction, which takes the driving pressure off the tire. This lowers the rolling resistance which is the external pressure affecting the tire that determines the amount of energy the vehicle needs to maintain the tire's motion. The reduced rolling resistance decreases the vehicle's fuel consumption and CO2 emissions significantly, offering a fuel efficient and environmentally friendly performance. The lessened rolling resistance also manages to slow the tread wear rate down. This, along with the flat footprint's prevention of irregular tread wear with the even pressure distribution, lengthens the tread life and the tire's usability, extending the tire's service life.
The model's flat footprint and constant road contact improve the tire's controllability. They maintain the tire's road contact at all times, which upgrades the steering responsiveness and the driving stability significantly. In this manner, the steering becomes faster and more precise in its responsiveness to the driver's commands, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting the model during the drive. The tire's reinforced steel belt internal structure upgrades its driving and load durability. It prevents the deformation of the optimal tire shape under the driving and load pressure affecting the model, which enables the tire to carry and withstand heavy loads with ease, guaranteeing a safer year round performance.
The Marathon LHD guarantees an exceptional all weather road gripping ability. The improved all season tire compound and the flat footprint of the symmetric tread design, which features an optimized siping pattern, work together to increase the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The siping heightens the number of biting edges firmly gripping the road surface throughout the year, while the compound keeps its flexibility throughout the year. The tread features zigzag circumferential grooves that disperse water and slush from below the tire's footprint. As a result, the tire actively resists hydroplaning and ensures a safer wet weather driving experience.
