OVERVIEW

The General Altimax 365AW is a touring, all weather tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. General offers a 60,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.

Lengthening the tread life was achieved with the stronger compound and the ideal footprint. These ensure the tire's exceptional usability by combating irregular and premature wear. The footprint enables the tire to evenly circulate the driving pressure, avoiding pressure accumulation on certain tread areas. On the other hand, the compound manages to decrease its wear rate by optimizing its durability. This combination significantly improves the tire's service life.

This is a true all weather tire. Not only does it provide excellent traction in dry and wet conditions, but it is also certified for harsh winter applications. The symmetric ribbed pattern features a sinusoidal sipe placement which generates biting edges to conquer versatile weather conditions. Its durable compound keeps the tire pliable in freezing temperatures while providing the heat resistance needed for summer performance. Circumferential grooves combat hydroplaning by channeling water and slush from the footprint. Furthermore, the tread area utilizes special traction teeth, which further enhance the ice and snow traction. This has earned the tire the three mountain-peak and snowflake symbol, noting its severe winter durability.

The tire offers exceptional controllability as well. It utilizes its symmetric ribbed footprint to closely follow the road surface at all times. These are squares that wear along with the tread. If the vehicle's alignment is good, the indicators will wear identically. However, if there is an issue with the alignment, the indicators will show irregular wear. In such cases, the vehicle needs to be checked and its alignment corrected in order to prevent irregular tread wear formations.

All weather tires receive the three mountain peak and snowflake (3PMS) symbol for their exceptional winter weather performance. They are all season tires with extra winter weather grip, in order to guarantee safer year-round durability. This ensures their true and secure driving ability throughout the year.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
