Firestone FD692
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
- All Season Traction
- Extended Service Life
- Eco Friendly Performance
OVERVIEW
The Firestone FD692 is a highway terrain, all season tire manufactured for commercial vehicles. This model is made to be installed on the vehicle's drive axle.
The tire's ability to maintain traction in dry, wet, and winter weather conditions comes from its all season compound and detailed tread design. The three center ribs promote dense siping that enhances the tire's grip throughout the performance. The lateral grooves and notches further increase the number of biting edges the tire can utilize for better traction. The zigzag circumferential grooves work together with the lateral ones when it comes to hydroplaning prevention. They eliminate water and slush from the footprint immediately, keeping it clean and in contact with the road surface.
The solid, elevated shoulder ribs form a completely flat footprint with the center ribs. As the driving pressure pushes the tire against the asphalt, the five ribs are equally exposed to friction. This results in slow, even wear, guaranteeing a long tread life. As each of the tread blocks and circumferential ribs wear evenly, irregular wear is also prevented. Since the footprint ensures stability, the tire can handle the forces of cornering, braking, and acceleration without pressure accumulation or flexing.
Another huge benefit of the flat footprint is that it maximizes road contact. Together with the premium rubber blend, it lowers the rolling resistance to a significant degree. By easing some driving pressure off the tread elements, the tire requires less towing, saving fuel in the long run. The tread is designed with traction and stability in mind, which largely contributes to its eco-friendliness as well. Since the FD692 guarantees low fuel consumption, the vehicle emits less CO2 into the air, promoting environmentally friendliness.
