The Falken Eurowinter HS449 is a performance, winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This model also has some touring sizes as well.

Falken offers a road hazard warranty with this tire. Road hazard damage is harm caused to the tire during its performance. It can occur in the form of punctures, bruises, or impact breaks when the tire is driven in normal driving conditions on a federal, state, and/or locally maintained road. Falken's road hazard covers the first 3/32nds of the tire's tread life or 2 years from the date of purchase (whichever comes first). The road hazard warranty is honored if the damage is unrepairable per the USTMA puncture repair guidelines. Additional restrictions and fees may apply.

The tire offers exceptional winter weather traction. The silica-based tire compound and the special 3D Canyon Siping design ensure a safer driving experience in winter weather by promoting superb road gripping ability even on snow and ice-covered road surfaces. The wide circumferential and lateral grooves eliminate water and slush from below the tire footprint, enhancing the hydroplaning resistance. The better winter weather road gripping ability and the prevention of hydroplaning improve the driving safety in all winter conditions.

The special high void directional tread design with the multiple wide lateral grooves improve the steering responsiveness and driving stability. The maintained road contact improves the steering responsiveness and precision and it stabilizes the tire against the driving pressure affecting it. The steering response to the driver's commands becomes quicker and more accurate. This tread design also allows the tire to shorten its braking distance. It maintains constant road contact and creates friction at the moment of braking, which enhances the braking ability.

The tread design's staggered block variation decreases the road noise heard while the tires are in motion. The variation pitch design negates the road noise generated while the tires are in motion, by creating a sound frequency that cancels out the pattern noise.
