OVERVIEW
The Dunlop Sport Maxx RT is a high performance summer tire manufactured for performance vehicles. The letters ‘RT' stand for Racing Technology as Dunlop used its knowledge from motorsport racing to develop this model.
The tire offers excellent summer weather traction. It uses three different tread compounds to ensure excellent road gripping ability in dry and wet weather. The three compounds are the Adaptive compound, that uses motorsport derived polymers that adapt to the road's texture, the Silica-plus compound, that enhance the wet weather road gripping ability, and the Dual Silica compound that boosts the tire's performing ability. The asymmetric tread design's circumferential grooves disperse water from below the tire footprint to prevent hydroplaning situations. The combination of these elements improves the summer weather driving safety.
The model's braking and cornering ability are also enhanced. The high speed braking distance is shortened thanks to the extra stiffness of the tread blocks. Their stiffness does not let the tread blocks deform during the drive and braking, which makes the braking ability better and the braking distance shorter. The tread pattern's massive outer shoulder tread blocks increase the cornering ability and power by maintaining constant road contact. This ensures a safer cornering and maneuvering ability, making the driving experience more secure.
The Multi-Radius Tread Technology improves the road contact patch by evenly distributing the driving pressure along the tire footprint. This boost the tire's handling by increasing the steering responsiveness and driving stability. The maintained road contact and smoother transition from straight line driving to cornering stabilizes the tire during the drive, while it also promotes a quick and precise steering responsiveness. This guarantees good response from the tire to the driver's commands, which ensures better controllability in all summer conditions.
The model is very fuel efficient. It is constructed from a lightweight material, thanks to the motorsport inspired structure, which lowers the rolling resistance greatly. The result is the vehicle's reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, which makes the tire fuel efficient and environmentally friendly in all summer weather.
The Sport Maxx RT's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced with the Jointless Band Technology's spirally wrapped cord, that lowers the road vibrations felt in the vehicle's cabin. As the tire does not deform under the driving pressure, it is capable of closely following the road surface, which lowers the road vibrations and offers a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.
