OVERVIEW
The Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT DSST is a high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.
The tire offers excellent summer weather traction. The tread pattern and tire compound grip the road well in dry and wet weather. The tire is not meant to be used in winter conditions, as the compound loses its road gripping ability in colder temperatures. The circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by eliminating water from below the tire footprint. This ensures a safer driving experience in all summer weather.
The model is a run flat model, which means that it is capable of supporting the vehicle's weight after the loss of air pressure for a temporary time. In case of air pressure loss, the tire can be driven on for 50 miles up to a speed of 50 mph, preventing the driver from being stranded on the side of the road. As a result, the driver is able to drive to a close location where they can change or repair the tire. These tires are meant to be mounted on vehicles that have no space for a spare tire. Regular tires cannot be mixed with run flat tires, as run flat tires have a heavier construction.
The special non-directional tread pattern enhances the tread life. The tires can be rotated when needed and, in this way, they last for a longer period of time. The tread design also evenly distributes the driving pressure across the entire tread area.
