OVERVIEW

The CST Sandblast is an all season, all terrain tire made for ATVs and UTVs.

This tire is specially designed for dunes, which is why it was important to make it as lightweight as possible. With this tire, the aim was to maximize flotation while still maintaining the traction needed for consistent forward motion. Minimum rolling resistance is guaranteed by the premium compound and the 2-ply rated bias construction. Flotation is guaranteed by the extra-wide footprint that is mostly smooth except the blades and small knobs that are responsible for traction.

While the tire's tread pattern applies very low pressure to the sand, it still has to establish traction. The tread comes with wide lateral blades that make sand traction possible. Those paddles claw into the sand, propelling the tire forward and providing the momentum it needs. This way, it can overcome the dragging power of the heavy sand that could easily trap other types of tires. The tread is also covered with small knobs to further enhance sand traction.

The tread is designed to maintain close contact with the surface, which improves the vehicle's controllability. The constant traction established by the paddles and knobs guarantees driving stability. As a result, the tire becomes easier to steer and responds faster to the driver's commands. The main advantage of utilizing the lateral blades is that they continually propel the tire downwards toward the sand surface. This is why it is possible for the Sandblast to keep surface contact consistent.
