OVERVIEW
The Continental TrueContact Tour is a touring all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. Continental offers an 80,000 mile treadwear warranty with the H and T speed rated sizes, and a 70,000 mile treadwear warranty with the V speed rated tire sizes.
The tire promotes great all weather traction. The all season compound and the special Traction Grooves increase the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The all season tire compound improves and maintains the tire's flexibility even in colder temperatures. The tread design's groove pattern and siping detail work together to find firm grip on the road surface in all weather. The circumferential and center angled lateral grooves prevent hydroplaning as they disperse water and slush from below the tire's footprint. The enhanced hydroplaning resistance and all season traction ensure a safer driving experience all year.
The model was manufactured with the Tuned Performance Indicators that visually represent the tire's tread wear rate. The letter D, W and S represent the dry, wet and snow traction and they gradually wear out. When all three letters are visible the tire has good all weather traction. However, when the S wears off the tire, it means that the tire has reached the point where it no longer has good snow and winter traction. The same process goes for the wet and dry traction. The tire should be changed, at the latest, when only the last latter remains.
The tire's special EcoContact Technology ensures its upgraded fuel efficiency. The technology uses the tire's compounds and structure to lower the tire's overall weight, without sacrificing its all weather traction, and with it decrease its rolling resistance. The rolling resistance is the force affecting the tire that determines the amount of energy the vehicle needs to keep the tires in motion. The reduced rolling resistance lessens the vehicle's fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, ensuring a fuel efficient and environmentally friendly drive.
The Comfort Ride Technology guarantees a quiet and comfortable drive. The computer-designed tread pattern decreases the road noise levels heard while the tires are in motion. This tread design channels the airwaves through the tire's footprint and prevents them from coming into contact with the tread elements, which resists the formation of tread pattern noise. The model's internal construction features an underlay beneath the tread which absorbs the shock of driving. In this manner, the road vibrations do not reach the vehicle's cabin and don't disturb the comfort levels of the passengers.
The TrueContact Tour is easily controlled. The tread design closely follows the road surface and maintains the tire's road contact at all times. As a result, the steering responsiveness and driving stability are improved. In other words, the structure is secured against the driving pressure affecting it, while the steering is faster and more precise in its responsiveness to the driver's commands. The better controllability enables the driver to confidently control the vehicle in all weather.
