OVERVIEW
The Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT is a performance and high performance, all season tire made for passenger vehicles.
This tire offers great all weather traction thanks to its exceptional tread design and tire compound. It grips the road well in wet, dry and even winter weather and the compound does not lose its great traction in colder temperatures. The tread pattern's circumferential grooves help eliminate water from below the footprint and enhance the tire's resistance to dangerous hydroplaning situations. This makes the tire safer to use in all weather conditions.
The tire was manufactured using run flat technology, which provides temporary limited mobility in case of air pressure loss. The tire's sidewalls support the vehicle in such cases, and it can be driven for 50 miles and up to the speed of 50 mph. Run flat tires are manufactured for vehicles that do not have space for spare tires, as they allow the driver to arrive at a safe destination, without being stranded on the side of the road in the case of a puncture. These tires cannot be used together with regular tires as their construction is heavier.
The tire was made with L. L. Carbon in its compound. The Long Link Carbon creates a long chain on the molecular level across the tread surface, which spreads out the driving pressure equally. The even distribution of the force of accelerating, cornering and braking prevents irregular wear on the tire, which extends its tread life. The tire's structure is resistance to punctures and damages, such as chipping, cracking and tearing. The longer lasting, even tread and the slower wear rate, which is also the result of the L. L. Carbon, allows the tire to be used for a longer period of time.
The tire's rolling resistance was lowered with the NanoPro-Tech. This technology blends the rubber elements with silica on the molecular levels, which enhances the benefits of the silica-based rubber compound. Most importantly the NanoPro-Tech reduces the rolling resistance of the tire. The lessened rolling resistance enables the tire to reduce the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of the vehicle, making the driving experience more cost efficient and environmentally friendly.
The Potenza RE960AS Pole Position RFT provides first-rate high speed performance. The spiral wrap in the tire's structure maintains its shape, even under the pressure of high speed driving. As the tire does not deform,it becomes safer to use. The high speed performing capability of the model is further increased with the CO-CS (Computer Optimized Component System,) which combines a mixture of different elements to optimize the high speed performance of the vehicle.
