This superb traction is the result of the unidirectional tread design which also helps avoid hydroplaning, by channeling water from beneath the footprint of the tire. The tire, however, will not perform well in winter weather, as it loses its good traction in colder temperatures.

The tire also has a flatter footprint. The flat footprint maximizes the contact with the road and enables even wear along the tread. The prevention of irregular wear extends its period of usability and its life.

The tire's boosted cornering ability is also due to the G-Control sidewall inserts, which provide extra biting edges in cornering situations, making the driving experience safer. The improved stability enables the tire to achieve higher performance levels.

As the tire does not deform, it becomes safer to use at higher speeds.
