OVERVIEW
The Atlas Tire DRV-OS IX is a highway terrain all season tire manufactured for commercial vehicles. This model was made to be fitted onto the drive axle of the trucks meant for highway use.
The model offers great all weather traction. The tread design features large stable tread block and an improved siping detail to, along with the all season compound, increase the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The enhanced traction ensures a secure drive in all weather, as the tire's compound does not deform under the driving pressure affecting it. The wide circumferential grooves effectively resist hydroplaning by eliminating water and slush from below the tire's footprint. The result is a safer driving experience in all weather.
The tread design enhances the model's controllability. The large tread blocks on the tire's center and shoulder area increase the road gripping ability and stabilize the tire against the driving pressure affecting it. In this manner, the tire's driving stability is ensured, while the upgraded road contact boosts the steering responsiveness and accuracy greatly. The shoulder tread blocks increase the number of biting edges during cornering and maneuvering, offering a stable performance.
The DRV-OS IX's internal structure features a 12 to 16 ply structure, depending on the specific tire size. This prevents the tire from deforming under the driving and load pressure, which allows it to carry and withstand heavier loads with ease. The reinforced construction prevents deformation during the drive, and the constantly maintained structure ensures a safer performance in all weather.
