OVERVIEW

The Americus Rugged A/TR is a rugged terrain, all season tire manufactured for SUVs and light trucks. Americus offers a 45,000 miles treadwear warranty with this model.

The tire improves the rugged terrain performance. The aggressive tread design utilizes the groove placement and the staggered blocks to optimize the off-road traction, while promoting excellent on-road comfort levels. The tread elements allow the tire to improve the forward motion on soft, loose and uneven terrain surfaces. These tread elements, which reach the sidewalls, provide the needed biting edges to optimize the versatile off-road terrain traction at all times. The tread design also keeps the footprint clean by eliminating mud and snow, and ejecting rocks from the footprint. This allows the tire to avoid stone retention from harming the casing by drilling rocks into the footprint. It also prevents mud and snow from blocking the surface contact during its off-road performance.

The better surface contact upgrades the controllability. The constant versatile terrain contact ensures the tire's forward motion at all times, which improves the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. In other words, the tire is quicker and more precise response to the driver's commands, while the structure is secured against the driving pressure affecting the tire. The shoulder block pattern optimizes the cornering ability with the use of extra biting edges. The tire's strengthened internal structure keeps the ideal tire shape under the load and driving pressure. As the tire does not allow the shape to deform, it further upgrades the overall load capacity.

The model also promotes excellent all weather traction. The detailed footprint and the stronger compound elements work together to improve the dry, wet and winter weather traction.
