Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season Review

Agota Szabo - January 25, 2019

To enjoy your performance vehicle’s full speed capacity, you need to secure high performance tires that are capable of handling the high speed driving pressures. High performance models offer a secure high speed performance by maintaining their optimal traction and tire shape under the driving pressure affecting them.

Priority Tire offers a wide range of high performance tires for passenger and performance vehicles. Goodyear’s Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season is one of our best-selling models.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season is an excellent example of a safe high performance tire. Not only does it promote first-rate performance, but it also ensures superb all weather traction. Furthermore, unlike other high performance tires, Goodyear offers a 45,000 mile treadwear warranty with it.

All Weather Performance

High performance all season tires offer the best of both worlds: high speed performance and all weather safety.

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season was molded into an asymmetric tread design from an all season tire compound. The asymmetric dual-zone tread pattern enhances the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability by splitting the tread area up into a dry and a wet and winter weather part. The outer tread sports less sipes and it was designed to upgrade the dry weather high performance. The inner tread features a higher density siping detail that firmly grips the road surface in wet and slippery road conditions. The tire compound maintains its flexible traction throughout the year, even in colder temperatures, guaranteeing a safer year round performance.

The tread’s special TredLock Technology adds microgrooves to the tread area, which further boosts the wet weather performance. This, along with the tire’s wide circumferential grooves, prevents hydroplaning. Hydroplaning is a dangerous road hazard that makes the vehicle skid by preventing the tires’ contact with the road surface. The grooves enhance the tire’s water and slush dispersing capability, which ensures a secure driving experience.

Controllability and Maneuvering

The tire’s good controllability is extremely important during high speed performance. At such speeds a second’s delay in the tire’s steering response can be dangerous. Because of this, it’s important to select high performance tires that offer first-rate controllability.

The asymmetric, race-inspired tread design of the Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season enhances the steering responsiveness and driving stability with its constant road contact. The tread’s outer area, with the lower siping detail, boosts the dry weather performance, while the inner area enhances the wet and winter weather driving experience. The tread’s constant road contact upgrades the steering responsiveness and accuracy to the driver’s commands, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting the model even at high speeds.

This model also ensures a safer cornering and maneuvering capability. The shoulder tread design features an interlocking tread block design. This pattern manages to increase the number of biting edges firmly gripping the road surface during cornering and maneuvering. The higher number of biting edges significantly improves the cornering ability and power, promoting a secure high speed performance in all conditions.

High Speed Performance

The driving pressure affecting the tires at high speed can deform their optimal shape if their structure is not reinforced.

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season features a strengthened twin steel belt structure. This internal construction maintains the tire’s optimal shape under the high speed driving pressure. The prevention of deformation allows the tire to safely perform at high speeds, which enables the tire to perform to its highest capability.
