Falken Ziex CT60 A/S Review

Agota Szabo - May 3, 2019

We have taken a look at many touring all season tires in our posts before. Every time we emphasize that such tires promote high comfort levels and all weather traction, especially during long distance performance. Such tires improve their handling with the optimized road contact and promote a secure performance throughout the year.

Here at Priority Tire, we offer a wide range of different brands, models, sizes and fitments for touring tires. One of our exceptional models is Falken’s Ziex CT60 A/S meant for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This model combines its all weather traction, first-rate handling, a fuel efficient performance and a lengthened tread life to ensure an exceptional driving experience.

Falken also provides a 65,000 mile treadwear warranty with all sizes and fitments of this model.

All Weather Performance

All season tires have the advantage with their all weather performing capability. They firmly grip the road surface and actively prevent hydroplaning to increase their year round driving safety.

The Ziex CT60 A/S promotes first-rate all weather traction. This model combines its tread design and all season compound to improve the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping capability. The silica-based tire compound maintains its flexibility throughout the year, even in colder temperatures. The asymmetric tread design with the 3D canyon sipe detail upgrades the number of biting edges gripping the road surface all year round, including on ice- and snow-covered road surfaces. The better traction and grip enable the tire to securely perform in all weather.

The tread design helps prevent hydroplaning in wet and winter weather. Hydroplaning is a dangerous road hazard which happens when standing water and slush located on the tire surface cuts off the tire’s contact with the road surface. This causes the vehicle to skid and the driver to lose control over the vehicle. The tread’s circumferential grooves help resist hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the tire’s footprint. This ensures a safer performing capability and improves the tire’s traction and grip throughout the year.

Fuel Efficiency

Fuel efficient tire models help lower the vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. This makes them more environmentally friendly, while it also lowers the fuel consumed during the vehicle’s performance.

The Ziex CT60 A/S was manufactured with Falken’s special 4D Nano Design technology. This technology optimizes a new biomass material compound that improves the rubber’s weather flexibility and lowers the heat build-up during the drive. These enhancements ease the driving pressure off the tire and successfully lower the rolling resistance.

The rolling resistance is the driving pressure affecting the model, which determines how much energy the vehicle needs to keep the tires in motion. The lessened rolling resistance decreases the vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, making the tire more fuel conscious and environmentally friendly during its performance.

Handling and Controllability

A tire’s road contact regulates the vehicle’s controllability, as tires are the only link between the vehicle and the road surface. The better road contact upgrades the tire’s steering responsiveness and driving stability, enabling the vehicle to perform in a safer manner.

The asymmetric tread design of the Ziex CT60 A/S improves its road contact. The tread features three continuous center ribs that closely follow the road surface throughout the tire’s performance. This better road contact upgrades the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. In this manner, the steering becomes faster and more precise in its response to the driver’s commands, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting the model. The better controllability enables the driver to confidently steer the vehicle throughout its performance.

The special shoulder tread blocks boost the tire’s cornering ability. These tread blocks, with the optimal siping detail, heighten the number of biting edges and improve the tire’s grip during cornering and maneuvering. This allows the tire to perform at its utmost capability and power in a secure manner.

Lengthened Tread Life

A longer lasting tread life is always a desirable feature a tire can have. Manufacturers utilize different techniques and designs to increase the tire’s usability and make it more popular on the tire market.

The special 3D canyon siping detail of the Ziex CT60 A/S lengthens its tread life and usability. The 3D canyon sipes firmly grip the road surface and improve the tire’s traction. This eases the pressure off the tire and slows the tread wear rate down. Furthermore, they enable the tire to evenly distribute the driving pressure affecting the model. The equally spread out forces of acceleration, cornering and braking avoid irregular tread wear formations, extending the tread life and promoting a cost-efficient performance.

  • All weather traction
  • Enhanced controllability
  • Fuel efficient drive
  • Longer lasting tread life
