Atlas Tire Priva H/T II Review

Agota Szabo - February 15, 2019

All highway terrain tires offer a durable and reliable performance. Their stronger structure and improved road contact increase the year round performing capability and load carrying ability. Their maintained optimal shape improves the model’s controllability and driving experience to ensure a secure driving experience throughout the year.

We at Priority Tire are proud of our wide range of SUV and light truck highway terrain tires. One of our most popular highway tire models is Atlas Tire’s Priva H/T II. This model combines its reinforced structure, excellent all weather traction, and reliable controllability to promote a safer highway performance.

The tire also comes with a good tread wear warranty. While its light truck sizes do not have a warranty, the SUV sizes have a 45-50,000 mile warranty, depending on their UTQG rating. The 460 UTQG-rated sizes have a 45,000 mile treadwear warranty, while the 500 UTQG rated ones offer a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty.

All Weather Performance

All season tires are capable of safely performing throughout the year with ease. Their compound and tread design work together to increase the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping capability. Their all weather traction makes them more cost efficient, as they do not need to be changed in accordance with the weather.

The combination of the all season tire compound and the symmetric ribbed tread design enhances the Priva H/T II’s all weather performance. The all season tire compound keeps its rubber flexibility throughout the year, even in the heat of summer and colder winter temperatures, while it also actively resists weather damage from harming the tire’s casing. On the other hand, the ribbed tread design’s continuous ribs, with the high siping density, firmly grip the road surface at all times, to ensure a safer year round performance.

Another dangerous road hazard the tire avoids is hydroplaning. This occurs when standing water and slush cut off the tire’s contact with the road surface. When this happens, the driver loses control over the vehicle, which may lead to accidents. The Priva H/T II features circumferential grooves that disperse water and slush from below the tire’s footprint. In this manner, the tire actively avoids hazardous hydroplaning in wet and winter weather.

Controllability and Maneuvering

Highway terrain tire models maximize their contact with the road surface with their ribbed tread pattern. Better road contact improves the driver’s control over the vehicle as it enhances the steering response and the cornering capability significantly.

The ribbed tread design of the Priva H/T II improves its contact with the road surface. The ribbed pattern promotes a flat footprint that closely follows the road surface at all times. As a result, the tire’s steering responsiveness and driving stability are greatly increased. The steering becomes faster and more precise in its responsiveness to the driver’s instructions, while the structure is secured against the driving pressure affecting the model. The better controllability allows the driver to confidently steer the vehicle in all conditions.

Furthermore, the shoulder rib’s tread block placement upgrades the cornering and maneuvering capability. This design heightens the number of biting edges gripping the road surface in such situations. The higher number of biting edges increases the model’s cornering and maneuvering grip and guarantees safer controllability throughout the tire’s lifetime.

Lengthened Tread Life

Longer-lasting tread life is one of the most important aspects of a tire in modern times. Manufacturers try to lengthen the tread life with the tire’s durable compound, optimal tread design, and reinforced internal structure, to offer a more cost-efficient model to the tire market.

The Priva H/T II lengthens the tread life by combining the durable tire compound and the symmetric tread design to ensure even tread wear. The compound significantly slows the tread wear rate down with its wear-resistant rubber. The symmetric ribbed pattern manages to evenly distribute the driving pressure affecting the model. The equally circulated forces of acceleration, cornering, and braking lengthen the tread life and the tire’s usability by avoiding irregular tread wear formations along the tread area.

The lengthened tread life and usability enable the tire to receive its 45-50,000 mile treadwear warranty for its SUV sizes.

Quiet Performance

Reduced road noise levels ensure a comfortable driving experience throughout the tire’s lifetime. The Priva H/T II manages to lower its road and tread pattern noise levels with the tread design’s optimized variable pitch sequence. This sequence creates a sound frequency that negates the sound waves generated while the tires are in motion before they reach the vehicle’s cabin and disturb the passengers.
