Atlas Tire Force UHP Review

Agota Szabo - November 28, 2018

High performance vehicles need high performance tires to be able to withstand the stresses of high speed driving. Their speed durability cannot be faked, or else it could lead to accidents. As a result, high speed tires need to ensure your safety when you’re driving your vehicle at its full capability.

Priority Tire offers a wide range of high performance tires that guarantee reliability, excellent traction and great controllability. From our lineup we’ve selected the Atlas Tire Force UHP to highlight in this post, as it is one of our best-selling models.

The Force UHP guarantees first-rate all season traction, exceptional high speed performance and controllability, and – on top of all this – a comfortable and quiet driving experience.

High Speed Performance

High performance tires have the capability of evenly distributing the high speed driving forces along their entire surface to ease the pressure off the structure. This ability allows them to perform to their greatest driving capability – as it prevents heat build-up on their surface. These models ensure a safer high speed performance and guarantee your safety while doing it.

The Force UHP also features this high speed ability: an optimized asymmetric tread design that closely follows the road surface. The improved road contact enhances the model’s all weather traction, ensuring constant road grip that boosts the high speed capacity. The improved road contact and increased traction work together to promote the model’s optimal road contact and high speed durability.

The tire’s internal structure sports a reinforced twin steel belt construction. This strengthens the tire to withstand the force of high speed driving by maintaining its shape. The structure does not deform under the driving pressure affecting it – guaranteeing a secure performance and enabling the tire to perform to its best ability.

All Season Traction

There are not a lot of all season high performance tires on the market and drivers tend to not trust their performing capability. High speed tires are usually made only for summer, as their special compound needs to withstand the heat built up at such speeds. However, the Force UHP breaks that barrier. Its optimal rolling resistance lowers the pressure affecting the tire – preventing heat damage – while its tread design and all season compound ensure a secure year round performance.

The Force UHP features a high silica compound and a computer designed asymmetric tread pattern. They work together to guarantee a safer dry, wet and light winter weather traction, by enhancing the road gripping capability. The silica compound keeps its flexible traction even in colder temperatures as it adapts to external weather conditions, while the asymmetric tread’s detailed pattern upgrades the year round road gripping capability.

The year round driving safety is further improved by the tire’s excellent hydroplaning resistance. Hydroplaning can be dangerous as it happens when standing water on the road prevents the tire’s road contact, causing skidding and loss of control. The Force UHP’s circumferential grooves and smaller angled notches disperse water and slush from below the tire’s footprint and promote a secure performance to ensure your driving safety.

Road Noise Free Performance

Driving comfort is an important aspect to keep in mind when looking for new tires. You might not think that it is a significant factor, but road and tread pattern noise can easily ruin your driving experience.

The Force UHP features an optimized tread design that enhances the road contact area. The maximized road contact patch lowers the road noise levels heard while the tires are in motion. The shoulder tread elements feature a dual pitch sequence which create a sound frequency during the drive – negating the road noise generated. This effectively decreases the road noise levels heard in the vehicle’s cabin and promotes a comfortable performance.

Controllability and Handling

Steering responsiveness and driving stability are crucial during high speed driving. A seconds delay in the steering’s reaction to your instructions can lead to dangerous consequences. We don’t mean to frighten you away from high speed driving, however, it’s important to choose tires that are quick and accurate to respond to your commands.

The Force UHP sports a tread design that provides an increased road contact area. The enlarged tread elements and continuous notched center rib keep the tire’s road contact to boost the steering responsiveness and accuracy. The tire’s reinforced internal structure maintains its shape – even under the high speed driving pressure – enhancing the driving stability. The better steering response and precision and the stabilized structure enable you to confidently control the vehicle at high speeds.

Lengthened Service Life

A longer lasting tread life makes the tire more cost efficient as it lengthens its usability. Manufacturers use different methods to achieve a longer lasting tread life.

Atlas Tire manages to lower the Force UHP’s rolling resistance with the tread design’s transverse grooves. These grooves of the tread design evenly distribute the driving pressure along the tread area, easing the driving pressure off the tire. As a result, the rolling resistance affecting the tire is lowered, which significantly slows the tread wear rate down. The moderate tread wear rate and the even tread wear formations extend the tread life and tire’s usability, ensuring a longer lasting service life.

  • Low road noise
  • Excellent all weather traction
  • Longer lasting tread life
  • Superb high-speed stability
