OVERVIEW
The Pirelli Scorpion ATR (MO) is an all season, all terrain tire manufactured for SUV, crossover, pickup and light truck vehicles, depending on the tire's load index. The tire is the original equipment model of select Mercedes-Benz vehicle models.
This model offers excellent all weather traction. The tire compound and the tread pattern grip the road well in dry, wet and winter weather conditions. Also due to the tread pattern is its resistance to hydroplaning, as the tread grooves disperse water and mud from below the footprint of the tire. It's safer to use year-round thanks to its superb traction and its resistance to hydroplaning.
The tire resists the hardest shocks, easily conquers uneven and loose surfaces and is reliable to use on gravel and mud. Its all terrain traction enables the tire to be used on all sorts of road surfaces, both on-and off-road. The great all-surface grip is always maintained as the tread design is self-cleaning. The large tread blocks disperse rocks and it cleans out mud and snow stuck in the grooves. As the tread is clean it does not lose its traction.
The tire's exceptional tread design provides enhanced stability and precise steering responsiveness at higher speeds. This remarkable stability does not hinder the performance of the vehicle. The tire's accurate steering is due to the continuous center rib and the shoulder tread blocks of the tread pattern. This tire gives the driver good road feedback. The reinforced sidewalls and the larger footprint of the tire allow for a shorter braking distance, while the shoulder tread blocks grant additional biting edges for cornering and maneuvering. This enhances the tire's safety.
The Scorpion ATR (MO)'s tread pattern also ensures a quiet on-road drive, enhancing the tire's comfort levels. The interlocking tread blocks in the middle of the tread reduce the road noise heard in the cabin of the vehicle, making the drive quiet and comfortable.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
