OVERVIEW

The Continental TerrainContact A/T is an off-road all season tire manufactured for SUV, crossover and light truck vehicles. Continental offers a 60,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.

The tire has great all weather traction due to the +Silane additives in the tire compound that grip the road in dry, wet and even winter conditions. The traction grooves increase the tire's grip in winter situations, like snow and ice. The full depth sipes ensure that the model will not lose its good traction with the tread wear as the sipes are not just visible on the top of the tread. The wide tread grooves actively resist hydroplaning by eliminating water from below the tire footprint. This makes the tire safer to use all year.

The model has excellent off-road traction. Its mild all terrain performing capability is thanks to the tread pattern and the TractionPlus technology. They provide traction on dirt, gravel and grass roads. The model is able to perform well both on- and off-road making it perfect for driver's looking for versatility in their tires. The tire is capable of handling uneven and loose terrains as the special tread pattern grips the road surface in all conditions.

During on-road driving, the model offers a quiet and comfortable drive. The ComfortRide technology reduces the road and pattern noise and the road vibrations. The tread pattern channels the soundwaves through the tread and prevents them from getting in contact with the tread elements. The tire maintains constant road contact and absorbs the shock of driving, lowering the road vibrations felt in the cabin of the vehicle. This makes the driving experience more enjoyable.

A longer tread life is guaranteed with the stabilized tread blocks. The +Silane compound and the tread blocks prevent irregular wear across the tread area and increase the tread life. As the tire is not allowed to adopt an uneven tread pattern, it is usable for a longer period of time. The longer tread life is further improved with the reduced rolling resistance. The compound reduces the rolling resistance which, in turn, decreases the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of the vehicle. The vehicle does not need as much energy to keep the tires in motion, which makes it fuel and cost efficient.

The TerrainContact A/T's internal structure features twin, high-tensile steel belts spirally wound with polyamide. This structure improves the tire's durability and prevents it from deforming. As the tire's shape is maintained the tire is capable of performing to its highest capability.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
