Attention! Due to the size of the tires, Packages might be SEPARATED in the courier facility and not be DELIVERED on the SAME DAY, even though we do ship them together. Tracking information can be checked by logging on to the courier website with the master tracking number you will receive via email. For example, you can receive 3 tires in one day and the 4th one the next day or the day after, or one tire in one day and the second one day after. We understand that this is a big inconvenience for our buyers, however, this is ABSOLUTELY out of our control.

    General G-MAX AS-05

    FEATURES AND BENEFITS

    • All weather traction
    • Longer lasting tread wear
    • Replacement tire monitor
    • Visual alignment indicator

    OVERVIEW

The General G-MAX AS-05 is a high performance all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. General offers a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.

The model offers excellent all weather traction with the StabiliGrip technology. The all season tire compound and the tread design enhance the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The compound keeps its flexible traction even in colder temperatures, while the tread design firmly grips the road surface in all weather. The tread's wide circumferential and smaller lateral grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the tire's footprint. The enhanced all weather traction and hydroplaning resistance upgrade the year round performance.

The special StabiliTread technology widens the tire's footprint to increase its road contact. This allows the tire to evenly distribute the driving pressure along the entire tread area. The equally spread out forces of acceleration, cornering and braking lengthens the tread life and the tire's usability by preventing irregular tread wear formations. The wider footprint also improves the model's controllability. It upgrades the steering responsiveness and the driving stability to ensure a more powerful performance and control. The steering is faster and more responsive, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure. The better control allows the driver to confidently drive the vehicle even at high speeds.

The tread design features the Replacement Tire Monitor that offers a visual representation of the tread life. The words “Replacement Tire Monitor” are present three times on the tread's center rib. They wear out along with the tread and notify the driver when the tire needs to be replaced, when the tread is about to wear out. When the words change to “Replace Tire” the tread is low. In this case, the tire needs to be replaced to ensure a safe driving experience.

The G-MAX AS-05's tread design has Visual Alignment Indicators, or VAI for short. These indicators are located on the tire's shoulders, parallel to each other. They also wear out with the tread like the Replacement Tire Monitor does. They visually represent the tread wear rate and manner of the tires and the vehicle's alignment. If the two parallel VAIs are identical in their wear, the vehicle's alignment is correct. However, if there is a difference between them, is means that the vehicle's alignment is off and it should be corrected before the tire develops an uneven wear pattern.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
