OVERVIEW

The Nitto NT555R Extreme Drag is a performance and high performance, summer tire manufactured for drag racing vehicles.

This model was designed along with the NT555 summer performance tire model. Nitto created these two models to complement each other. The NT555R Extreme Drag can be mounted on the rear axle, while the NT555 on the front one to ensure the vehicle's exceptional drag racing performance and everyday driving safety. The NT555R Extreme Drag expertly blends drag racing with everyday use to optimize its potential. As a result, the tire earned its DOT approval as well.

The tread design features a directional tread pattern with optimal groove placement. The tread's maximized road surface contact area enhances the dry traction, while the groove pattern boosts the wet weather performance. The tread's surface contact upgrades the grip on the road surface to improve the high speed performing capability. The tread design channels water from the footprint in rainy conditions, to enhance the wet weather traction. This combination ensures the tire's safer summer weather high speed driving experience.

The tread design and the tire's internal structure work together to boost its high speed controllability. The directional tread's larger road contact area and the structure's semi-radial construction enhance the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. They maintain the tire's surface contact and optimize the tire shape throughout the drive to ensure a faster and more precise steering response and accuracy to the driver's commands, while it upgrades the driving stability significantly against the driving pressure affecting the model. The semi-radial construction also enhances the high speed durability.
