The Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 is a touring, winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.
The tire has great winter weather traction and it grips the road both on snow and ice thanks to the special tread design and the NanoPro Tech Multicell tire compound used in its manufacture. This compound with its Hydrophilic Coating removes water from the tire surface to enhance winter weather traction. This, combined with the excellent hydroplaning prevention of the wide circumferential and lateral grooves that channel water and slush from below the tire footprint, increases the tire’s road grip on all snow and ice covered roads. The tire is branded with the three mountain peak and snowflake symbol, meaning that it is capable of handling the harshest winter weather with ease.
The tire offers a longer lasting tread life. The optimized road contact surface and flat footprint prevent irregular tread wear by distributing the forces of cornering, braking and accelerating across the tire surface. As the tread is forced to wear out evenly, it becomes usable for a longer period of time. The tread pattern also features tread depth indicators. These indicators show when the tire is about to lose its great winter weather road grip. The Multicell tire compound is only present on the top 55% of the tread, after that the tread only has an average winter weather compound that still grips the road well. The indicators show when the model is close to wearing the special tire compound out and, later, when it needs to be changed.
The Blizzak DM-V2’s winter weather road grip increases its controllability and braking ability as well. The flat optimized tire footprint and the increases block edges make the tire quick and accurate in its response to the driver’s instructions. The extra road grip and the better road contact area increase the braking power and shorten the braking distance. The tire is safer to use as a result as it is more responsive and it stops shorter on snow and ice covered surfaces.
